    Annual Exhibition

    Sculpting Time

    November 1st – 9th
    Fubon Art Pavilion

Sculpting Time traces artist Cindy Chao’s two-decade evolution through artistry and craftsmanship. Exploring the texture of time and the resilience of life, the exhibition unites art jewellery and installation in a dialogue of light, form, and material.

In collaboration with installation artist Yu Wen-Fu, it marks a new chapter for the Maison—where architectural precision, sculptural dimensionality, and organic vitality converge in timeless creation.

Sculpting the Ephemeral into the Eternal

Artist Cindy Chao redefines the boundaries between jewellery and sculpture. With the mind of an architect and the hands of a sculptor, she transforms gemstones and titanium into three-dimensional works of art collected by leading museums worldwide. Each creation is a meditation on time, nature, and emotion—where fleeting moments are immortalised through light and form.

In Sculpting Time, her Feather, Maple, and Branch motifs reveal two decades of refined craftsmanship, capturing nature’s multifaceted beauty. Through the stillness of form, Chao imbues each jewel with motion, spirit, and life—sculpting the ephemeral into the eternal.

Feather and Bamboo: Flight and Roots

Born in 1968, Yu Wen-Fu grew up in Zhushan, Nantou, a region abundant with bamboo. His practice is rooted in the “perception of nature”—the belief that, like wild creatures, humans are most attuned to their surroundings when the mind is undisturbed.

A former air force pilot, Yu uses feathers to express the softness of clouds and the invisible movement of air, wind, and sound. Bamboo represents his return to roots, a material inseparable from his childhood landscape. Through these materials, he conveys time’s flow, life’s resilience, and the quiet pulse of existence.
